A couple days ago something very unexpected happened. A gypsy men with twenty years old, he showed his interest in start studying the Bible, “but”, he said, “there is a problem… I don’t know how to read”. He gave an explination to that, when he was a child he had some troubles in the school that hindered him from continuing to go to school, he started having kind of a trauma concerning this…
He was asked if he wanted help, that he could start learning how to read so that after some time he could start reading the Bible by himself! Immediately, he accepted and said that nowadays, he regrets about having that attitude, in the past, of leaving the school. He believes in God and told that he asked Him the following: “Lord, if You want me to learn how to read, please, bring someone able to help me” this prayer was one week before he finds a person that wanted to help him.
His cousin is eleven years old and both of them came for the Bible studies we’ve had, and Manuel (the young men, who is learning how to read) he never misses his classes, he had three classes already and by God’s grace it’s possible to see some progress during the classes! All this has been a blessing for all of us.
If you had the opportunity to read this testimony is because you have this skill of reading, why not enjoying it and why not spend more quality time reading the love letter God left us?
God answers the prayers of His beloved ones, He answers according to His perfect will because He knows what is the best! May we keep all this in our prayer lists.

Recently, we had a Bible study, here at the AFCOE house, with the children that have been studying the word of God, since May 2017 approximately. One of the guys, that never attended to any Bible study, he decided to come for the first time, nobody was expecting him to come!
We had a simple and dynamic study about the fruits of the Holy Spirit and all of them participated answering and asking questions about what we were studying. They were very happy and attentive and it seemed they didn’t want to leave, but wanted to learn more and more…
We are thankful to God and we want to continue to be efficient tools in His hands. Do you wish the same?
We were having some devotionals, here at AFCOE, and thought that it would be great to invite some of our Bible contacts so that we could have fellowship moments all together and “share Christ” with them.
The invitation was made, but the truth is that most of the Bible contacts that we planned to invite, they said that it would be hard for them to show up. We ended up expecting only one person to come, and of course this would be totally worth it. Actually, something happened later on, all of them made a call to ask if they still could come for the devotional moment that we would have!
We had such an inspiring moments together, we sang some songs and shared testimonies. They were very happy to be here and the kids asked if they could have a Bible study right in the day after!

I’m an AFCOE-graduate from the Fall Class of 2016, and never imagined that I would stay in this small village for so long. I’m currently working as a Bible worker mostly with children and I’m impressed with all the results I’ve seen in them! Check out the video to hear their testimonies! – Marina.
A week ago we completed an AFCOE-To-Go program in the Cascais Seventh-day Adventist church here in Portugal. We spent a week there in the church having classes, and conducting outreach in the surrounding community. During our time there the AFCOE-Europe team gave instruction in Personal Evangelism, Health Evangelism, and how to give Bible studies. Additionally we went out on outreach with the church there, and even put on a cooking class in the church for the community and church members.
It was a blessed week in mission! Pray though for the church in Cascais that they can continue on the work!
If your church is also interested in AFCOE-Europe coming to put on an AFCOE-To-Go church training program please contact us. We are planning to put on a number of these church trainings in the fall and winter of 2017!
We are so blessed to have just finished one and a half months of the Spring 2017 Class at AFCOE-Europe here in Portugal. A lot has been learned so far. Gardening, Nutrition, Revelation, Personal Evangelism, and just learning to work together with people of different ages and nationalities. That’s one of the huge blessings here at AFCOE-Europe, to be able to work together with people from all over the world, to see new perspectives on things that you never saw before, and to become friends with people that you normally wouldn’t even have an opportunity to know.
Ellen White writes this following:
“The Jewish temple was built of hewn stones quarried out of the mountains; and every stone was fitted for its place in the temple, hewed, polished, and tested before it was brought to Jerusalem. And when all were brought to the ground, the building went together without the sound of ax or hammer. This building represents God’s spiritual temple, which is composed of material gathered out of every nation, and tongue, and people, of all grades, high and low, rich and poor, learned and unlearned. These are not dead substances to be fitted by hammer and chisel. They are living stones, quarried out from the world by the truth; and the great Master Builder, the Lord of the temple, is now hewing and polishing them, and fitting them for their respective places in the spiritual temple. When completed, this temple will be perfect in all its parts, the admiration of angels and of men; for its Builder and Maker is God.
Let no one think that there need not be a stroke placed upon him. There is no person, no nation, that is perfect in every habit and thought. One must learn of another. ThereforeGod wants the different nationalities to mingle together, to be one in judgment, one in purpose. Then the union that there is in Christ will be exemplified.”

Pray for these students as they are trained and their characters are molded to fit in the spiritual temple of God!
One reason for having the AFCOE-Europe school in Portugal was because of the longer growing season so that we could have a garden. Each student has a section of the AFCOE Garden to take care of, by watering and weeding the plants, and checking for harmful insects. So far we have harvested cabbages, beets, lettuce, and spinach from the garden. All the food grown has been used by our fabulous cook Andreia to make very tasty vegan meals for the AFCOE-Europe program.
We look forward to expanding the garden in the future and growing even more things there! We know that Nature is God’s second book, and there are a lot of practical life lessons to be learned in the garden!
On the 8th of December the AFCOE-Europe students put on a Health Expo in the small village of Santo Estêvão where the AFCOE-Europe house is located. We teamed up with the major of the village and the local pharmacist to put on the Expo. We had about 20 people from the community come and go through the different stations. Each station had one or two of the AFCOE-Europe students and staff sharing about one of the 8 principles of Health. We checked the visitors’ BMI, the Blood Pressure, and Cholesterol, as well as giving massages and sharing some tasty vegan food! At the last station we spoke to the visitors about trust in God, and were able to share some small tracts or books as the conversation opened up.
Praise God for this opportunity to share with the people of the village! Since the health expo the people in Santo Estêvão have been more open to us! Keep praying for the students and staff as they minister to the people in this community!
AFCOE-Europe put on a cooking class in the local Seventh-day Adventist church in Benavente. We had a number of guests and church members attending. We started with a Health Lecture on the pH of our bodies by Rafaela who is a staff at AFCOE-Europe.
After the health lecture, the students in teams of two, shared different simple plant-based receipies. A few of the recipes included, a smoothie, some vegan carob spread, and scrambled tofu. After the demonstrations the all the attendees received some samples of the food. Everything made was very good! Who ever said that vegan food isn’t good?
